At Proactive Performance we are the only Sports and Exercise Podiatry practice in Canberra. We have access to the latest technology to enhance rehabilitation and return to performance outcomes. One of the exciting pieces of technology we have are the Vald Dual Plate Forcedecks. We are the only podiatry clinic in Canberra to have access to this technology. As part of your return to activity we have valid and reliable ways to objectively measure your progress.
ForceDecks are the world’s fastest, easiest and most powerful dual plate system for analysing neuromuscular strength, movement strategies, asymmetries and imbalance. It is used to measure, train and monitor strength. ForceDecks are utilised in professional environments such as University labs, Australian Institute of Sport, NBA, NFL, NRL, AFL, EPL just to name a few. We are privileged to be able to present the exact same technology that professional athletes use for our patients at Proactive Performance.
It is important to look at the neuromuscular system is working in order to apply force and develop power which is the fundamentals in the process of profiling and monitoring your capacity and mitigate injury risk.
The major point of difference with our use of the ForceDecks:
1) Knowledge, it is the main prerequisite that our podiatrists are further skilled in data and sports science. We have had exposure in high performance sport settings and educational qualifications to understand the ForceDecks data. Patrick is a Level 2 Sports Scientist accredited by Exercise and Sports Science Australia. Technology is aimed to help and facilitate but it cannot replace a profound knowledge in physiology, biomechanics and performance science;
2) Interpretation, unlike other podiatry clinics, Proactive Performance have podiatrists who are qualified to interpret data that is relevant to you. It comes right after knowledge as correct and proper understanding of the results is fundamental to avoid “data overuse” or “data for the sake of data”. Selection of the right data that are most useful and transformation into actionable insight is of paramount importance and ethical practice
3) Communication, which is the essential requirement for connecting the dots between the various departments (medical, technical/biomechanical and fitness). A common language and a shared vision is going to make the difference in correct technology integration, we believe that your understanding of the data will be the same as ours so we can be on the same page.
4) Technology, it is the above points that allow us to have this technology provided and delivered to you. Our point of difference is not only to have the technology but the skills required to effectively provide them to you to enhance your outcomes.
